And while the commissioner tells those Mennonites to go to court - Tracey Tear Panton has been telling her party leader to take it to the National Party Council.
She;She's been pressing him to hold a meeting for months and on Saturday - he finally relented - and a virtual meeting of the group of about 100 or so senior party members was held.
This morning, when Taegar Panton appeared on Sunup - she told our hosts that much had been aired out, not all of it settled:
Hon. Tracey Panton, UDP Albert Area Representative
"The outcome is really looking at how we rebuild the party constituency by constituency. We have agreed that wherever there seems to be or they may be still areas for healing, that those areas will be tackled first, so that any kind of lingering, ill will can be put behind us. Shyne isn't going anywhere. He was also a part of the decision making of the party. I did not hear any dissenting voices at the meeting I attended. And maybe a reservation here and there, but no dissenting voices and so in my assessment it has never been about one individual, it has been about how we can rally together to forge a way forward for the United Democratic Party."
And she says that running absence of an NPC meeting is why she took months to sign her support for her Party Leader as Leader of the Opposition.
Hon. Tracey Panton, UDP Albert Area Representative
"The recall petition happened and the party leader was successful his bid to remain party leader and at that time the central executive committee were fully onboard to having him being reinstated. I still held my ground because I had not heard from the national party council and I had not heard from my colleagues collectively and I wanted to make sure that when we make a decision, it is a decision that we can stick to, that we can all rally behind and once the 31 of us met and wea agreed to the national party council and the 31 agreed that the unification process was an imperative for the United Democratic Party, there was no reason for me then to not sign the letter to reinstate the party leader as our leader of the opposition."
Panton also spoke of the return of John Saldivar into the good books of her party leader. She says he remains a vital force in the UDP - and even in what might have been a Freudian slip - called the unelected politician "honourable":
Hon. Tracey Panton, UDP Albert Area Representative
"I don't know that John Saldivar ever left. John has been a big part of this party. Certainly not only in Belmopan, but in terms of his influence on what we called the western caucus of the party. John has always maintained that whether or not he is the standard bearer for Belmopan, that he loves the UDP, he wants to be a part of the UDP and I really believe that the John Saldivar brings a lot of skillsets to the dialogue and to a lot of influence in terms of the unification process. So I don't know that he left, but there were differences that we had to resolve and I am happy to report that certainly we have made a quantum leap in the right direction and I think all of us in the United Democratic Party have good reason to be proud."
The full Sunup show repeats tonight at 8:00.
