The media caught up with the Prime Minister today in San Carlos Community, Orange Walk where he was doing a signing for a local co-op - more on that later in the news.
But first to the news of the day: confirming what we first reported last night - the PM confirmed that Dr. Lesbia Guerra will be the new CEO in the Ministry of Health. She was the CEO in the Ministry of Natural Resources for a year - at the end of which he didn't ask, nor was she asked to come back.
And now he goes over to the Ministry of Health and wellness, where another PUP Lady Doctor didn't leave to the sound of laurels. The PM discussed it today:

"Minister Chebat has met with Dr. Guerra who has expressed interest in working in that ministry, Dr. Guerra has extensive experience, she worked for years in the ministry of health and has the managerial skill, ability and experience to be able to run that ministry, so from the looks of it seems that she will be taking over very shortly and I'm very excited to welcoming to her to the team of CEOS."

"And that will be on a one year contract like at lands?"

"I don't know yet, at lands she was the one that asked for a one year contract, in this instance I'm hoping it will be more than one year because we need continuity in that ministry as ministry of health continues to be one of the most important ministries right now not only because trying to keep the health of our people but also because of the pandemic that we continue to face in Belize."
