And one candidate that won't be standing with him is OJ Elrington. The former Freetown hopeful is hopeful no more. After one losing run in the Francis Fonseca stronghold - Elrington is calling it quits.

Now, Elrington was once a Faber ultra loyalist who then dutifully followed the leader after Shyne Barrow was elected. But, has he now had enough of the Shyne show?

Via Zoom yesterday, we asked him:

OJ Elrington
"Yes Jules, it is not my intention to run for Freetown for the next general election. Yes, that is indeed a fact."

Reporter
"Is this because of the difficulties with your leader Shyne Barrow? I saw you post a few days ago that you do not support what's happening with Patrick Faber. Is it that you have difficulty with Shyne's leadership?"

OJ Elrington
"No, I have no difficulty with Shyne's leadership, I can challenge decisions by different decision making bodies. I think that it is my right and my duty to do so as a senior member of this party as you said. In fact, no, it has absolutely nothing to do with Shyne, senior officials in the party would have known and have known for some time that I intended not to contest this week in Freetown despite pleadings from many members, that continues to be my decision."
