There is discord within the City Hall tonight, according to sources inside the Council. We are reliably informed that coming out of a contentious caucus meeting, the City Administrator Stephanie Lindo-Garbutt is going on three weeks leave. This reportedly after the mayor went on an offensive against her and expressed significant displeasure with her performance and professional conduct. We understand she even threatened to resign - but walked that back and instead opted to take some "time away".

And - while the council has been making good publicity for itself in the wake of Hurricane Lisa - sources tell us that the City Administrator may have plenty to be upset about. Our source pointed us to a lucrative contract awarded to a company closely related to a councillor. That 1.2 million dollar contract is to Gel Quarry Limited and was approved at the last caucus to push access roads in the Lake Independence area. Councilor Edmund Kwan is known to be linked to Gel Quarry and is listed on his LinkedIn page as the manager of the company.

We'll keep following this story.
