And in his long lamentation about foreign judges, Bradley also complained about the fact that Belize also now has a foreign Chief Justice, Louise Blenman.
He said the former acting CJ Michelle Arana was just fine by him:
Dickie Bradley, Attorney-At-Law
"I understand there is going to be an exodus, we only have two Belizean judges you know, Judge Lord and justice Antoniette Moore, everybody else is a foreigner, and remember we also did a bad thing, we had a Belizean acting as Chief Justice and for whatever reasons the powers that be decided that they wouldn't ask her to be the Chief Justice."
Cherisse Halsall
"They say she did not apply."
Dickie Bradley, Attorney-At-Law
"But how can you apply for something you already have and are already doing? She has been a judge, she has been the Chief Justice of the country for more than two years, there has never been any fault with her judgments or her administration, plus they just changed the law to take the Supreme Court and the court of appeal and to make some kind of sere or tamales thing where nobody quite understands what they are doing, but they have said the Chief Justice would only be like an administrator for the courts. You are telling me, Michelle Arana who was the top student of the year when she graduated, won an overseas scholarship, has a Master's degree and lived her life as a lawyer and a judge can't administrate a hand full of judges? It's just to say which judge and so, and that is insulting our intelligence."
