And while the CWU's President laughed off this morning's police presence, the Union gave 21 days once of strike action 7 days ago.
But they haven't gotten any answer to that notice, that is until this morning when President Flowers says the answer came in quite an unusual way, not in writing but through a messenger.
Here's what she had to say about that:
Leonora Flowers, President, CWU
"The response when we sent the notice on Friday after 8 that Friday night, last week Friday we got an email to say that the notice has been forwarded to the Minister and he is aware of the notice, well we know, Saturday Sunday Monday we expected a response from the Minister, from the government, there has been, nothing, like he is undecided because it has been completely silent. Now, today when we come out for the peace rally there was a physical person coming over here to say the LC wants to speak to us. We were blown away but that approach, it is quite unorthodox, but like I said to her, we can, and this is on record, we see it as nothing it's a lukewarm approach to something, to a situation that is untenable. We continue with our peaceful mission and we will let our next 14 days run over."
