Now, we also wanted to talk to the Prime Minister about this very pivotal time in Belize's electoral history when we met him at an event in San Lazaro, Orange Walk today - but, like Indiana Jones running from that boulder, he whipped out before we could get a word on that:
Reporter:
"Good morning, Very reverential. So we just have to question sir, just two..."
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Tomorrow at the house meeting I could give you all an interview."
Reporter:
"Sir, If we could just get two things."
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"If it is on this. Yes. If not, No."
Reporter:
"Can you give us something short?"
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"If it is on this? Yes."
Reporter:
"Sir. with all due respect it's only..."
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"With all due respect. Tomorrow. Tomorrow I will give you all an interview."
We will try and have that interview for you tomorrow - when the Prime Minister celebrates the anniversary of his 30th uninterrupted year in Parliament. He was first elected to represent the PUP in Orange Walk Central on 30th June 1993 - a victory for him - but a shocking loss for his party in a snap election which turned into an upset and an unlikely victory for a UDP/NABR coalition.
