Yesterday we told you that the Opposition Leader declared that the most senior member on their side of parliament has crossed the floor. Collet's area rep reportedly sent a letter to the Privileges Committee, which had gathered to discuss Shyne Barrow's email to the Speaker of the House, calling her a waste of time, among other comments.
In the email, Faber distanced himself from Barrow's comments.
But has he indeed crossed the floor? We asked the PM for his thoughts.
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Has there been a vote in the House? Has there been a vote in the House? The Leader of the Opposition continue to amaze this country. And when you think he has gone down low, he continues to go down lower. But I don't want to waste my time in commenting on what the leader of the Opposition is saying."
"I think that the honorable, the honorable member from Collet Honorable Patrick Faber must be commended for saying the right thing. The Leader of the Opposition is wrong. The Leader of the Opposition was wrong in being disrespectful. I am sure that he would not like if somebody were to use that kind of language describing his mother."
"He would not like that. The Speaker of the House is a mother. The Speaker of the House is somebody that we should all respect. The Speaker of the House is responsible for the affairs of the National Assembly. He needs to look at how the UDP speaker used to treat us when we were in government, when we were in opposition."
"He needs to see how is it that Julius Espat was dragged out of the house and that is because he did not insult the Speaker of the House. And now he wants to say that Patrick Faber crossed the line. Anyway, I don't waste my time in discussing the Leader of the Opposition."
