And late this evening, we got another release on this issue - this one from the Public Service Union.
It says the immediate reaction of Public Officers has been, quote, "one of alarm and utter disgust."
From there they go on to issue a list of 5 ultimatums including a 5% increase in salary for fixed and open vote workers, and that the increase be rescinded in 21 days.
And, if not rescinded in 21 days, quote, "the PUP Administration announces the granting of a double increment to Public Officers effective April 1, 2024. This equates to the restoration of the 2021/2022 frozen increments due to Public Officers."
They warn, quote, "Fallure to fulfill the above will leave the PSU with no other option but to seek a mandate from its general membership for industrial actions."
Again, big talks, and we'll keep following it closely.
