Fonseca they also discussed the ongoing tensions on the Sarstoon involving the Guatemalan Armed Forces and the BDF. He says that they are following protocol and hopes that the Guatemalans will continue to do the same.

"Yeah, of course, there is an established process to respond to these matters. So, yes, we have sent a diplomatic note of the process but we have done more than that at the military level. We have had representatives from the Ministry of Border Security reach out to counterparts in Guatemala to speak about this issue. And as well I of course raised the issue in my meeting with the Guatemalan Foreign Minister to again formally register our concerns and protest over the actions and so you know those were well met. And I think the Guatemalan Foreign Minister is committed to acting in good faith to ensuring that we do not have a repeat of this type of incident, that is our hope."
