And while the honorable Zabaneh sings his cousin's praises - one of his colleagues who was not there to do that is the Minister of Logistics - with responsibility for Ports - Michel Chebat was noticeably absent.
We asked the PM what prompted his absence at the opening of something as significant as a Port:
Jules Vasquez
"I don't see the minister with responsibility for ports here. I've been hearing for many months that there's antipathy, because the man feel he is getting boxed out of port of Belize. I'm talking about Minister Chebat."
"Is there some antipathy between Minister Chebat and others in the cabinet?"

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Not that I am aware of. He attends cabinet every time we have cabinet and he participates fully. He supports when issues come up from port of Belize. He's very supportive. He's consulted before it goes to cabinet and so he's kept abreast of what is going on. That has not been brought to my attention."
Jules Vasquez
"But why he is not here this flagship project?"
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Something could have come up. I mean there are many instances we have important events that I'm invited to and I don't come because I have something else to do and probably he's working in his constituency. We have a lot of work to do this constituency like all of us."
