Untitled Document And one division where the Prime Minister definitely doesn't want another name on the ballot is Corozal Bay.
The party leader is mightily displeased with his former area rep Elvi Vega for throwing her name into the ring.
We asked Panton for her perspective on the ongoing contention between the former Corozal bay area representative and the new PUP standard bearer, Thea Garcia.
And even though she has a candidate in that constituency, Panton wasted no time to say that she is in support of Elvi Vega Samos's candidacy:

Tracy Panton, UDP Albert Standard Bearer
"I applaud her, I applaud her. I think it takes a lot of courage, her heart seems to be in the right place. She wants to be able to give her supporters and the voters in Corozal Bay an opportunity to have a say, to have a voice to determine for themselves who they believe should be their voice in the National Assembly. I'm sure that was not an easy decision for her. I can tell you staying the course I have stayed, it has not been an easy journey but I know what I believe in and she believes in herself, she believes in the people of Corozal Bay, she believes that her voice is important and she has offered herself as a candidate. Kudos to all of the above."
