Untitled Document Panton said that while the no show nomination can't be undone, they owe the voters an explanation for betraying what she says is a privilege.
Tracy Panton, UDP Albert Standard Bearer
"It is a privilege to become a standard bearer, it is a privilege to be in a position where you can be responsible or contribute to the policy framework of this country, the legislation of this country the governance of this country. I believe the elections and boundaries reported yesterday that 90, 90 Belizeans out of 350,000 Belizeans have offered themselves to take on a political leadership role for whichever political organisation and institution they represent, its a privilege and with that privilege comes a responsibility and the responsibility is to serve without fear of favour, malice or ill will. It is about making sure that the voices of the people have a say at the highest level of our decision making and so as I said before and I say again it is a travesty and it is a black eye to Belize's democracy for that sort of event to have unfolded on nomination day and the gentlemen who took that decision must be held to account for the decision they have taken and the leader they supported needs to be held to task that he was so out of touch with his candidates that he was not even aware that this was about to transpire."
