And speaking on another matter of public interest, when we brought up his colleague Osmond Martinez - who is under scrutiny for disbursing contract payments which were later flagged as having insufficient source of funds, Coye - who operates at the highest level of finance - claimed he had little to no knowledge on the incident.
Christopher Coye, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance
"I am not familiar with the particulars of what you raise. But I do believe that, the minister has spoken on it, and, I would leave it at that. I can't speak to something I don't know about."
"I can't speak for the central bank there. Financial intelligence unit? You'd have to speak with them. But I understood that this was something. This was an audit being done at the level of the credit union, not the central bank nor the FIU."
Reliable reports say those suspicious transactions also got the attention of the Central Bank and the FIU. The Ministry of Finance has since shown us the source of funds for those contracts but questions persist.
