As of this morning, Michael Peyrefitte is once again the former chairman of the UDP. That's after he tendered his resignation via the party's favorite social media platform - WhatsApp.
This second resignation comes after the aborted NPC meeting and a failed attempt at trying to unify the party yet again.
But it's not out of left field - Peyrefitte had warned that he would leave again if the party was not moving in a transparent and mature way. He's what he said back in June.

Michael Peyrefitte, Former Chairman, UDP
"And I will tell you also again, that if I believe that we're not moving in that direction, as was promised to me by the leading personalities in the party, I have, I have no hesitation in telling you that I will resign again, because I feel like the majority of the people in our party that were sick of this, we're sick of seeing what's happening in our party."
"And I'm telling you this, and I can say this to you, I come back very reluctantly. I came back very reluctantly. But, they know my weakness, and my weakness is the love of my party and the love of my country."
And less than a month later, he has left the job for the vice chair, Alberto August, and the UDP must once again go back to the drawing board.
