And while the two sides were battling it out, Senator Louis Wade had a message for the government - Kareem Musa needs to be replaced as Minister of Home Affairs. The way Wade see is is that holding that position along with the Ministry of New Growth Industries is a conflict of interest, especially when he's pushing for marijuana legalization. Here's how Wad put it yesterday:

Louis Wade Sr, Hope Not Dope
"At this present moment, they're allowing people to smoke in public, in schools, at every corner because the police are conflicted. Who are the police working for? Are they working for the government and the minister of police or are they working for the new growth minister? How can you as a police officer and a police department hold down marijuana when you're minister is promoting marijuana out on the street, there's a conflict of interest. We want a new minister of police that can actually carry out the laws of the country of Belize. Kareem Musa as minister of police is an abject failure in this country. He need to be removed from ministry of police. I think Kareem Musa does an excellent job as new growth industry."
"But in the meantime I want to ask the prime minister, please for a new minister of police because we can't have the minister of police promoting marijuana legalization in the country of Belize. This is a major conflict of interest."
We'll be seeking comment from Musa at the next available opportunity.
