In other labor news, the PSU has given the government a notice of industrial action and according to the notice, quote, "The subject of this dispute is the Government's persistent refusal to engage with, or even respond to, the Union's serious concerns regarding the planned transition of the Belize Tax Services Department into a Semi-Autonomous Revenue Authority." Today the CEO in the Ministry of Labor confirmed that they have received the notice and that they are preparing a response. Here's what he said.

"Yes, they have submitted, a notice, a dispute notice, I believe so, yes. No, sorry, yesterday, yesterday I believe it was submitted yesterday, but the submission has been made and we have received it. We're in the process of responding, acknowledging their notice. And of course, we have to internally discuss the way forward and how to get them addressed this matter. But yeah, we are we are fully aware of it. We have received the notice and we are preparing a response for that very shortly."

The PSU notice says, quote, "This notice is issued as a direct result of the Government's failure to respond to our numerous attempts at engagement over several months."
