All roads lead to Belmopan on Monday for a Special Joint Sitting of the House of Representatives and the Senate. This sitting will represent not only the official reopening of the newly renovated National Assembly Building, but also to observe the visit of Guyanese president, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, who will be addressing a joint sitting of Parliament.

But, while it may be ceremonial with a special guest, this sitting won't be business as usual since there are strong reports that the UDP plans to protest outside the National Assembly. Now, we're told their request for a protest permit was denied. - and they had hoped to get in behind the NTUCB protest. But, the latest word to our newsroom is that the NTUCB does not have a protest to demonstrate on Monday.

Regardless, heavy police presence is expected and our teams will be on the ground covering both events.
