And in other empire maneuvers, last week Minister of Defense Florencio Marin was invited to Doral Florida to participate in the Americas Counter Cartel Conference - led by the US Secretary of War. Today we asked minister Marin about it - and he started with the invitation:

Florencio Marin, Minister of Defense
"We got an indication that there would be a meeting of that nature. I did not get the details like in about a month. Then about a week then yes we got the formal invitation."

"Remember as part of my speech I said Belize cant work on this international threat alone I mean quite frankly no country can do it alone these days transnational organizations operate across borders they don't have that restriction so to counter it we must work together. And we have always had successful partnerships but I think they want to take it up now to a newer level and we look forward to that to be able to keep our sovereignty intact and to be able to keep Belize safe."

Marin is one of the 17 signatories to the Joint Security Declaration who signed on to, quote, "Join a coalition to combat narco-terrorism and other shared threats to the Western Hemisphere."
