We also asked Marin about their regional dominance which they have been flexing since President Trump took office. Today Minister Marin said that CARICOM as a bloc must stand together:

"I think we have always known that Belize is a critical player in CARICOM we have worked together with CARICOM and well the US are the dominant player within the region so we don't really see that as any major issue for us once we stick with out partner nations with CARICOM to work together as one group I think we are okay. I mean if you are saying they will be able to force themselves on us or force some policies on us really no I don't anticipate that."
