The Annual Lionman Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday September 12th. But for its fifth year there will be some changes in the race and to get fans accustomed to the change in venue and new route, there will be a simulation this Sunday at the Sandlighter's promenade. Lionman committee member Melvin Torres gave us the rundown of Sunday's simulation.

Melvin Torres, Lionman Organizer
“This activity basically is to achieve several goals. Firstly we would like to sensitive the public, our fans, and the athletes that the venue will be changing from the previous years that we used to have it at the deep water port facilities. With the new advent of security and trying to keep our fans associated with the sport, it is important that we try to find a venue where everyone can come and enjoy it. Hopefully it can be one of those days where a family can take out its whole family and enjoy this event.”

That of course will take place on Sunday at the Sandlighter's promenade which is on Newtown Barracks. The simulation begins at 8 am. The Lionman showdown is set for Sunday September 12th at 8 am when the two time champ Hubert Johnson known as ‘Brother J’ or "Crocodile Man" as we call him will defend his title.
