Sergio Chuc will be president of the FFB for another term. On Saturday at the 18th Ordinary Congress of the FFB, he and more or less the same slate were elected to lead the Executive Committee from 2024 - 2027.
Today, Chuc spoke to us via phone about what he was re-elected unopposed:

"I believe the association, the district associations and the league readily endorse me again because of the long term strategic plan that I have put in place, which has shown a lot of success more on the infrastructure level where we have been building our infrastructure and then at the technical and tactical level with the players the process is in place where you could see at the youth level our teams are winning, at the female level which was non-existent before."
"We are very competitive now and at the elite male level we continue to struggle and that is where we need to work most but the elite is going to show results in a couple more years when the youths that we have put the programs in place start taking over the national team."

"Yeah I think you have been reading our strategic plan, because I set that goal that our U17 youth team in both male and female will reach the gold cup before my term is over."
"We will be playing in a world wup, not the local Central American Cup or the CONCACAF, the Confederation Cup but we are talking about a youth World Cup and then we will continue working on that team at take us up to the Youth World Cup to take over for the national team."
Chuc says since the World Cup brackets have been expanded from 32 to 48 countries - Belize can start dreaming about some day playing in there.
On the issue of transparency, Chuc says the FFB is currently doing an Annual and Statutory audit performed by two different accounting firms - one local and one international.
