For a bodybuilder, a major competition requires months of dedicated preparation leading up to a competition. And it does not matter how well you eat and how many hours you spend in the gym, often your training follows a strict schedule so that your results and your physique peaks just in time for the night of the competition. It's a tight balance of nutrition and training and if the competition is moved to a later date, then all that physical priming falls apart.
And that's why there's concern that the Belize Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation has changed its competition date for the Mr Belize Competition from October 4th to November 21st.
We spoke with one of the trainers who told us why his trainee has decided to pull out of the competition.

Clayton Grinage, BodyBuilding Coach
"I have been training Air for the past 7 months and I trained my clients so they can peak at the right time."
"I saw this notice Tuesday and it came like a shock you know because we are preparing and all of a sudden it's going to be November 21st so how do you del with something like that when a lot of people think that this is just physical, it is mental and everyday I have to talk to my clients to keep them happy and you know motivated because it is not easy at all bodybuilding is not an easy sport and so I have to keep them on track because I have done it before, I have done it for many years so I know what it feels like all of sudden you say oh we won't do this anymore with no prior notice you know why? And explain, no apology, no sorry for the inconvenience nothing like that. That is not how you go about doing things."
"You do invest a lot of time and effort, money and resources so if you are not in shape then I can understand the next 2 months, well a guy would be happy cause you got 2 more months to train but if you are in shape you'll be like hey let's get it on. And this is the reason why they give you the date they give you a calendar of events so you train towards that date."
