A Basketball Tournament That Scores Points For Peace

The William Dawson Basketball Tournament began on Friday night with its opening ceremony at Birds Isle. The event was initially called the "Live Life Basketball tournament" but was later renamed in 2022 as a way to honor the legacy of William Dawson after his passing.

And true to his legacy, the event is about peacemaking and 30 teams from different neighborhoods are expected to participate in this year's tournament. Here are the highlights from the opening ceremony.
