If you happen to find yourself in the danger zone, caught in the middle of these flash floods, NEMO is already on standby to respond to those in need of evacuation. NEMO Coordinator, Daniel Mendez explained what response mechanism they have set in place.

Daniel Mendez - NEMO Coordinator
"Our teams across the country have been on alert; we have been monitoring along with the MET service, the hydrology service, the passage of the rainfall. So what we have been noticing is there has been a few incidents in the Stann Creek district. Our Stand Creek coordinators have been out there addressing and assisting in that regard, there is always the potential for further activation of the system but at this point there has not been the need but we will keep monitoring and as the information comes in the rest of the country remains on alert so all of our offices across the country are aware and have been making communications with the different components of the system so if there is a need for us to activate the system it will be done so quickly."
For those who want to reach NEMO can reach them via their emergency hotline at 936.
