Under the auspices of the PUC, the Organization of Caribbean Utility regulators today held a one-day workshop with utility stakeholders. The objective is to assist in the improvement of regulation as well as to share information and experience within the region. Chairman of OOCUR J. Paul Morgan explains.

J. Paul Morgan,
"The regularity business in the Caribbean is new with varying experiences ranging from Guyana right up the chain to your Belize and it's a difficult business. Its not one that comes naturally, its not one they teach in school, and so therefore we've found that by sharing experiences, because each island and each country is at a different stage of development, we found that by sharing ideas and experiences helps us within the region to chart the course and to provide some ideas even not just for Belize but also for ourselves in the other territories."

The workshop had in attendance representation from the 3 utilities in Belize as well as up to 20 representatives of utility regulators from the majority of Caribbean countries.
