The former Executive Director of the National AIDS Commission is tonight a convicted drunk driver. Yesterday Martha Carillo was found guilty in Magistrate's Court of driving with alcohol content above the prescribed limit. The charges date back to the early Saturday morning on August 7th of last year (See Martha Carillo Charged for Allegedly Driving Drunk) when Carillo was driving her government issued Isuzu pickup on the Northern Highway when upon reaching a curve near Rose Garden she hit Sharon Jones. Yesterday in courtroom number 2 Carillo was found guilty and fined $650 which she must pay by April 30th or face jail time. Carillo was also charged with grievous harm and driving without due care and attention but those charges never made it to trial. We are told that was the wish of the complainant. Carillo was defended by B.Q. Pitts.
