And while Carlisle executives spoke to us about that, they haven't had anything to say about the much-touted inspection of BTL. As we had reported on January 12th, Ashcroft joined with the Unions to ask the Supreme Court to appoint an inspector to investigate BTL. Well the court approved the inspection on March 3rd, with the inspector to go into BTL on March 13th. But more than a month has passed since that ruling and nothing has happened.
Now, we've learned that the same Ashcroft Group that asked for the inspection in the first place is appealing the ruling because the judge put the period for inspection too far back, to April of 2001, when the Carlisle Group was still in charge of BTL.
The sudden reversal is accompanied by many changes at BTL, including the central one that positions Ashcroft far differently than he was in January; he is now restored as owner of 25% of the company and has three directors on the board.
