In related news, today, Speednet executives confirmed to us that they will take BTL to the Public Utilities Commission for what they call "price discrimination."

Last week when BTL announced its bonus minutes for postpaid customers there was a but and it was that the extra minutes will be good only for calls made to other BTL customers. While BTL called it incredible rewards, Speednet says it is simply price discrimination and against the law since those rates should apply to all calls whether it be to a Speednet or to a BTL customer.

A BTL representative today said it is a marketing strategy and they are simply offering incentives to their customers. They add that it can't be price discrimination since they are not actually changing the price they are just giving their customers additional minutes.

The matter will be taken up with the PUC and we were unable to get clarification from that regulatory agency before the end of business today.
