Eight Scotia Bank customers are possibly watching this newscast tonight on their brand new 32-inch flat screen televisions. Yesterday the bank selected a winner from each of their 8 branches across the country. All customers needed to do was qualify for a residential mortgage between September and November to get a chance to win. That is exactly what Bernadette Chuc did. She was chosen from the Belize City branch and we were there when she went to pick up her flat screen TV this morning. We also spoke to Cecil Arnold and Josie Andrews from Scotia Bank.

Bernadette Chuc, Winner
"It is quite exciting and I have a happy feeling about it. I never expected that I would win something like this so it is a very nice Christmas gift, pleasant surprise."

Josie Andrews, Scotia Bank
"Each customer that actually qualified for one of these residential mortgages at our branches got a ticket into a raffle so not only are we giving away this one TV for the Belize City branch but each one of our districts yesterday went ahead and made their selections so we do have nine winners."

Cecil Arnold, Scotia Bank
"It is a partnership and we want our customers to feel that as we both succeed together, we will all grow together and therefore giving back is a part of what we do every single time. I think it gives customers a little bit of appreciation for the kind of people we are, it is not just about us, it is about them."

While we at the bank this morning, we captured a special show from Trinity Methodist Primary School's choir. The heart warming performance was the students' way of saying thanks to the bank which has helped out the school. Other winners in the promotion are Rudolph Baptist, Orlando Palma, William Waight, Nathaniel Verde, Augoceli Nah, Francisco Pott, Marlon Leslie, and Ramon Contreras from the various other branch offices. The sets are valued at about $2,000 each.
