Universal Health Services, its critics call it an albatross around taxpayers’ necks, but social security calls it an
investment opportunity.
That’s the wording of a press release issued today. Following up on what we reported last night, it says, “Social security’s
board of directors has received a proposal for an investment opportunity with Universal health services.”
We don’t know where in that “opportunity” the 33 million dollars in debt comes in, but that’s why an independent
consultant has been hired to do a feasibility study. And what’s also curious, is that the release says a proposal has
“been received” – but received from whom? As in, who’s pushing the deal? That’s another question we couldn’t get an answer to.
After the study is delivered – possibly by year’s end – the board of directors will make a decision. The release committs
to public disclosure of the board decision.
