Last week pump prices for fuel shot up sharply and this week it’s the price of butane that’s going up. The only consolation is that the price for a one hundred cylinder of butane gas is increasing by only $4.
Government announced today that it approved an increase in the controlled price for a 100 cylinder of butane gas from $118 to $122 in Belize City. As always it does not include delivery – which means that if you want it delivered at your door - you’ll actually now pay $124 in Belize City. The increase is countrywide with Corozal also at $122, Orange Walk at $123, Belmopan and San Ignacio at $124, Benque at $125, $126 in Dangriga, and $127 in Punta Gorda.
The new prices go into effect tomorrow. The increase is as a result of rising acquisition and freight costs.
