Gregory Stamp is a security guard at Edward P. Yorke High School and while it doesn’t seem like a high risk job, Gregory Stamp is proof that it can be perilous. The thirty year old claims he was kidnapped and assaulted by three young men, lead by a former student who was expelled last week. Stamp says he was targeted because he was just following order which said that the young man was not to be allowed back unto the compound. He did as he was told and a day later, on the afternoon of May eight, Stamp was on Central American Boulevard waiting to catch a bus when he was abducted. Still showing the wounds from the abduction and assault, he told us what happened next.

Gregory Stamp, Assault Victim
"I was waiting for a bus to go to eight miles to visit a friend of mine when a black car with unlicensed plates come from around the roundabout where I was standing in front of Charro’s business place and basically three young men exit the car.

They took me onto Partridge Street and took the Central American Boulevard and then the Northern Highway, straight through Ladyville, off into Burrell Boom and took the prison road and it is about half a mile from the prison.”

Jacqueline Godwin,
What was going on inside this vehicle?

Gregory Stamp,
“Well he said, ‘ you playing hard core, you the hard core security who I the hear about at the Edward P. Yorke so I will fix your business.’ I was taken off the prison road into a feeder road and then the three of them exit the vehicle again and took a pipe from the back of the vehicle and they hit me here and they hit me here and here and then I managed to escape.”

Stamp’s injuries have been classified as wounding. When 7NEWS called Edward P. Yorke High School we were told that the expelled student had returned to school to confront another student he believes is responsible for his expulsion. The administration instructed Stamp to not allow him on the compound. According to the school’s spokesperson they do not know if the student is one who assaulted Gregory Stamp but the timing of the incident makes it suspicious. Belize City police confirmed to_ 7NEWS_ that they are investigating and have since detained the main suspect.

Gregory Stamp has been working as a security guard for the past five years and it’s the not the first time that he’s been assaulted. Two years ago, Stamp had to get five stitches over the eye after another expelled student punched him.
