Whenever there’s any news about the price of fuel, it’s always talk of a crippling increase. But tonight, finally, there’s a break form that, and quite a big one. No....the price hasn’t gone back to 5 dollars, but it has gone down by over a dollar. As of midnight last night, the new controlled price of a gallon or premium gasoline is $10.41, that’s down $1.08. A gallon of regular is now $10.01; it used to be $11.19. And diesel, which had crested at an almost unthinkable $11.74, is now $10.60. That’s a $1.14.
The decreases are the result of falling crude oil prices – which rallied to close at $116 a barrel this evening. Government says it passed on the entire decrease in acquisition prices to consumers.
