The price of LPG or butane will go up at midnight tonight.
At this time, the current wholesale price is 3 dollars and 97 cents per gallon, but in a few hours, the new price will be 4 dollars and 3 cents per gallon.
That means the retail price in all urban areas of the country will be regulated at 128 dollars for a hundred-pound tank. Currently, the price for a 100-pound tank is 127 dollars. The retail price in all rural areas will be 130 dollars for a hundred-pound cylinder. Currently, it is sold at 129 dollars for that full tank.
Jose Trejo, the Controller of Supplies, says that the increase of 5 cents per gallon for the month of September is due to a marginal increase in acquisition prices for both propane and butane. He adds that the increase for this period is 50% less than the 11 cent per gallon increase that occurred last month.
