Five vehicles were damaged in a fire in Trial Farm Village this afternoon. Police visited the scene at Perriot's Garage on Avocado Street where they saw the vehicles engulfed in flames. The owner of the garage, Steve Perriot, told police that it was his neighbor who alerted him to the fire. And while he didn't put the blame on anyone for the cause of the fire, the officer in charge of the fire department says it was poor housekeeping on Perriot's part that contributed to the fire.
Felipe Mencias, OC, OW Fire Dept.

"Poor housekeeping. If you notice how the vehicles parked and everything just nothing in order so that you could move easily. If you notice a vehicle was at the entrance partly not moving because it didn't have on a wheel. Those the little obstacles. We understand that the fire start from one the sheds where there stored engines and then due to the radiation it catches the vehicles and everything started to get out of control."
"The call came in as a house fire. So one truck was dispatched, the truck arrived and noticed that it was a big scenario and so it requested the other truck and that's the reason why you see the next truck came."
Steve Perriot, Fire Victim
"I was laying down and the workman says there is fire at the back. The fire was already out of control."
