And another thing that has gone up is the price of parking in certain parts of the city - namely downtown Belize City - and BTL park. It's gone up from zero dollars to $1 dollar and 50 cents for half an hour, three dollars for an hour.
And that's why parking on Albert Street has been peel, peel since parking meters went up on Monday morning.
It's forced those who are coming into downtown for shopping, or have businesses in the area to cram unto side streets where they can still park for free.
As for city hall - and its bright idea to raise revenue from already over taxed residents, we've been monitoring Albert Street in front of our studio closely, and if they've made 20 bucks from parking over the past few two days - they've made a lot.
