One man is half a million dollars richer tonight after he won the mega-bucks on Mega Bingo.
47-year-old Eugene Moody, a Sandhill resident, is a loyal Mega Bingo player but he'd never expected to win the jackpot - especially not one that has been slowly building since last year. The grand total is $675,282. Even after taxes, Moody still goes home with a hefty amount.
And while he was still a bit shellshocked today, he explained that he spent all of last night in disbelief:

"My wife was in the kitchen making tea, and I was just sitting outside in the chair, as it goes by on my phone, and I was watching it on Facebook, it's going by and I'm ticking off the number as I'm going by and I said wait, it reached down to the last two numbers, and when it came down to 28, I said babes, I feel like I win this thing you know. At the same time I'm going through, I told my wife, babes I win, you know. She said, no. I said yes! But when I done, I jumped up and started to do a little dance. And after that a bunch of things started going through my head. So it was just for a moment then I just put down the ticket and start to drink tea. But then again, when the place said somebody has win, even me, I told myself I feel happy for the person that won, not knowing it was me. I myself didn't believe so I came in to really make sure and as I reached downstairs I said, Miss can you check this, because I'm not so sure but maybe I win the letter X or in house, maybe I win something, so I told her even if I win $750, I don't mind. What happen is when she checked it, and she said but Mr Moody, you won the mega bingo, the jackpot. I said, no. She said yes! Right then I started feeling kinda... you know those ways. In here start to get bubbly and my hand inside started to get sweaty. My plan is, I never really owned a land or a house so my plan is to really build a house for me and my wife. I know sometimes thing is like from hand to mouth and we got kids, have to pay their school fees, I have a lot of things that I'd really like to get dealt with and some bills too I'd want to finish pay some bills because in life you have to end up borrowing money to pay off certain things or to get certain things that you need. And this come in as a...man, this come in handy."
Moody has two children, ages 8 and 15, and is an employee of BWS.
