Turning now to the Sugar Industry… we told you last night how the millers at the BSI began accepting cane deliveries at their Tower Hill Factory. They are trying to make up for the eight days of lost productivity due to the stalemate from last week.

At this time, there are multiple challenges. The mill is starting at half capacity as it continues to finish up its air emissions project for its second boiler. Also, the bad weather during the Christmas weekend made it difficult for farmers to prepare their cane for delivery on Tuesday.

Well, representatives of BSI tell us that at 11:00 this morning, they began grinding the cane that has been delivered so far. We are informed that the mill still doesn't have enough cane to operate at its potential right now, but they've made a start. As viewers will remember, they have made the point that stopping and starting are very costly, so they are hoping there will be no reason to stop due to a lack of steady cane supply.

The employees are hoping that the farmers can continue to provide them with enough quantities of cane to keep the mill running.

We'll keep following the latest developments.
