But while that appeal process continues to take shape, the Prime Minister has indicated to the press that the Port of Belize cannot continue to stay in receivership indefinitely.

"PM, are you aware if investors are coming in to check out Port of Belize and would GOB entertain privitization again, rather than nationalization?"

"I can't answer that question simply because it's not something that we're there yet. We have to wait, I think the 21st. I think the Port of Belize have Waterloo time to appeal the judgement and so we want and see what will happen, but certainly we cannot keep the status quo at Port of Belize. An investment has to be done to fix the, if there is no cruise terminal the container/cargo terminal has to be upgraded. That's not a matter of if it will done. It has to be done either by the receiver or a new set of investors would come in or if government some day may add this. We are not there, the important thing is we need to finish off what have already started."
