And, finally tonight, the estate of former Channel 7 owner Nestor Vasquez today announced that it has paid off his full indebtedness to BTL - where Vasquez was the founding chairman.

A statement from the estate today said that it has, quote, "reached a full and final settlement with Belize Telemedia Limited….Prior to his passing in April of 2021, Mr. Vasquez had personally undertaken the majority of the debt repayment…Following his passing, both parties entered into mediation and agreed on a settlement figure. The remaining balance of this debt has now been fully satisfied, with the final payment made on January 29th..."
