City Hall and its Lebanese Engineering supervisors Turba slammed M&M Engineering with a 3 page release. M&M has struck back with a 13 page response. It's too lengthy and detailed to go into here, but it basically makes a case that their design was taken by Turba for the Belcan bridge - and that the modifications Turba made were unnecessary or inadequate.
It says, quote, "M&M Engineering Consultants Ltd. stands firmly by the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of our original Belcan Bridge design. Our work was guided by rigorous geotechnical data, international engineering standards, and decades of proven experience in bridge design and construction across Belize. In contrast, the so-called "Supplementary Design" presented by Turba Ltd. introduces uncertainty, contradictions, and incomplete specifications that jeopardize both structural integrity and public safety. We therefore reaffirm that M&M Engineering Consultants Ltd. 's design remains the only technically sound, fully developed, and construction-ready solution for the Belcan Bridge — a bridge designed by Belizeans, for Belize."
