The grand opening for Digi Belize's new Signature Plus Store took place this afternoon at their corporate headquarters on St Thomas Street, Belize City.
It's a major upgrade for the company which tore down one of its oldest buildings and replaced it with a shiny new structure that hosts its Signature Store with a whole range of DIGI products and cell phones, plus a business center.
The Chairman said it's a total reboot:

"This is a very special day for us. We're coming to the end, almost of a complete revamp, rehaul, re-overhaul of this whole complex. When we came, it was in horrible condition where workers were working in offices filled with mold. The parking was horrible. The buildings are in a poor state of disrepair, and we've gradually, over the last five years, remodeled, renovated all the buildings on this compound. We wanted to create an environment that is conducive, healthy for our employees.Right? A safe space for them. And of course, our customers. So we believe that this building today shows the commitment that we have had to rebranding our national telecom and truly making it a proud place for all Belizean to come and do business with, showcasing our technology, showcasing our offerings to the Belizean people, showcasing the bundles that we have to offer and all the commitment that we have as far as our investments go in technology and connectivity in Belize."

"I think give you a sense of pride. And as I said earlier. BTL has had a bit of a sordid history over the past, probably ten, 15 years. And, you know, we don't have to go through all the recitals and that we were very concerned about the acquisition and how it was done and how it was being managed after that. But, it's an asset that we own, the government and people own. So we have to do our best, and make sure that we can right the ship. So we, we put the, I think we've had good, a good set of directors, of the, at the, at the board level. And, once you provide your staff with the proper leadership, with the proper vision and the proper support and respect, I believe that great things can happen and BTL is a great example of that. When we got into government, we did not go into trying to hire, fire anybody or whatever we work at what was there and of course made certain adjustments. But now look at the results. In 2019 BTL earned what? I think about $1 million. And now look at where we are today. So I'm very, very proud of, of the work that the board has done and especially, the employees of BTL because they are the driving force behind the success."
