There's no market for crypto in Belize but the Financial Services Commission has put out a notice warning about self-styled crypto trader named Travis Smith.
The Financial Services Commission has issued an unusual public warning against him. A press release says he is not licensed or registered to provide financial or securities services in Belize, and they warn the public to exercise extreme caution. According to the Commission, Smith has been directed to cease and desist from the unlicensed activities, which constitute an offence under Belize law.
As for Smith, he said today in a Facebook post, quote, "all they're saying I can't operate as a business and charge people to buy crypto for them...I can still invest in crypto, talk about it, but I simply cannot charge people to buy crypto for them.." End quote.
