Mahler also agreed that the old docks around their new development clashes with its aesthetic.

"I'm saying all the docks that we have are eyesores. Many of them are not properly done. People want to walk on a beach and not be encumbered by any dock or anything so a lot of these things are not necessary for doing business. I think once we organize ourselves properly then we can truly reach our full potential and that is across the country."

"And the locals, are they receptive to a project like this?"

"Well I mean that is something we have to consult about, consult with them about. Again do you think this is appropriate right? I mean without hesitation you said no so we want to fix up these areas and the border management facilities is right over there and that is a port of entry and we get thousands of people through there from Mexico and other parts of the world who are visiting Mexico comes into San Pedro that way and then they go to Caye caulker and then they do the tour of the country."
