And when it comes to the NBC, the BBA has been carrying a narrative that they have been getting 19 cents per mile which is a falsehood that the CEO wanted to address head on:

Chester Williams, CEO - Ministry of transport

"They were saying that NBC was getting 19 cents per mile which is not true. That is the gist of this you know. It's not about the stop stop."

Reporter
"Are they making that on any run though? 19 cents per mile."

Chester Williams, CEO - Ministry of transport
"No, no, no. And just to be fair again if you look at the distance from Punta Gorda Town to the junction, in fact maybe all the way to Indian Creek village, there's a lot of villages along the that route that James has to stop, and then there's just perhaps 20 miles to independence where there's not much stoppage. Then from independence again to Dangriga, there's many villages there that they have to stop as well. So James could've had the argument as well that the run from PG to Belize City do have a lot of stoppages as well. So for me it is not about the stop stop but rather the fact that they have categorically stated that NBC is getting 19 cents per mile which is not true."

For balance, we have seen proof of short runs where the NBC is getting more than 19 cents per mile.
