Counterfeit.... The new breed of hi-tech counterfeit bills continues to appear across the city - with no reports coming form the districts - at least not yet. As we've been reporting the new counterfeits faithfully replicate safety features that were thought to be virtually uncopiable. These are the watermark which depicts George Gabb's sculpture, "The Sleeping Giant," and the silver thread embedded in the paper. While the appearance of the bills has been reported at a number of businesses throughout the city, so far it has been spread across three denominations, and five serial numbers. These are: cc977083, cc915950, cc061730, cc927374, and cc934813. Most of the fake notes have been in 10's and 20's.
