Three young girls who were the subject of scandal only two months ago, are now in the news again, as two of them have been abducted by their grandmother. The two children who were allegedly sold as sex slaves to 73 year old John Majarez were taken out of the country by their grandmother this weekend. It is alleged that 48 year old Maria Moz took both of the girls to the Benque Fiesta on Saturday. But instead, she took them to Guatemala, and presumably on to Salvador - her home country. That makes her a criminal, because a court order had conferred exclusive custody to the girls' aunt Alba Moz, who is not allowed to take them out of the country. We are told that the girls did not have their travel documents, and could be smuggled into Salvador. Still, the Family Services Division is working to have them brought back home to their aunt. Still, the grandmother, who has knowingly violated an order of the court, would be charged for abduction. And if they do not return, Department Director Ava Pennil told 7 News that their absence will not hamper the case against Majarez because the child who was left behind would still testify.
