Somebody's gotten off with a lottery jackpot and they didn't have to pick any numbers. In fact to claim their grand prize, the only number they needed was the house number for Lotto Supervisor Bruce Card's Coffin street home in Belize city.
Card reported that last night at 8 after picking up the day's sales from a number of Lotto venders he arrived home and was robbed at gunpoint as he got out of his car. Card had the money more than $50,000 stuffed in a knapsack.
Police took him in for questioning but were interrupted when the company's lawyer and part owner Wilfred Elrington showed up to object. We are told that matter has now been resolved and police have proceeded with a full criminal investigation.
Despite numerous attempts to contact her, Lotto Manager Carol Young was unavailable for comment today. According to our information however, Card is not being frowned upon for taking home so much cash, it appears to be the standard procedure for supervisors.
