Jamaican Gets 5 years for Drug Trafficking

Today 33-year-old Jamaican Steve Armstrong Evans appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord to answer to two charges of drug trafficking. After mitigation plea by his attorney Richard Stuart-Evans was sentenced to two concurrent 5-year terms in jail and was additionally charged $20,000 or in default 3 more years in jail.

On Christmas day Stuart - who works on the ship - was searched as he was boarding the Norwegian dream when he was found with 3 point 3 kilos of cocaine.

Since then another Jamaican cruise ship worker has been caught in similar fashion.
